Defense Health Agency (DHA) Animal Assisted Therapy
4S-Silversword supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Animal Assisted Therapy program by providing all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services. An ongoing need, the Animal Assisted Therapy program supports the therapy and rehabilitation of Wounded Warrior patients and other eligible health care beneficiaries in treatment for post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) systems. The National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) is a Directorate within Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), whose mission is to improve the lives of patients and families impacted by TBI and co-morbid psychological health (PH) issues, through clinical care, research, and education.
Defense and Veterans Eye Injury and Vision Registry (DVEIVR)
4S-Silversword designed and developed the DVEIVR system for Kaihonua to support DHA-provided web-based management tools, clinical administration tools, CAC authentication, and reporting capabilities. We provided system architecture, software development, and ongoing Tier II/III support for the DVEIVR system.
The DVEIVR system provides the DoD and VA eye care communities a registry containing longitudinal patient ocular data from point of injury through follow on care, including VA. The registry provides clinical providers and researchers the ability to research aggregated DoD and VA data collected on eye care diagnoses, surgical interventions, operative procedures, visual acuity, and treatment for our service members and veterans injured in battle. This aggregated data helps the vision care community make improvements to eye care, guide eye care research, improve clinical practice guidelines, support readiness, enhance best practices, and inform policy.

Through the Air Link Optical Component for RF-Denied Communications (TALOC)
The US Navy requires a reduced size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP) free-space optical communications capability for tactical fighter aircraft operations in a radio frequency (RF)- denied environment. In response, 4S-Silversword Software and Services, LLC is developing Through the Air Link Optical Component (TALOC) that has been designed for both military and commercial applications. 4S’ TALOC offers distinct advantages over RF-only systems. For example, the ability for seamless communications and operations in RF-denied areas will provide a critical advantage over enemy forces whose communications are completely blocked. Miniaturized FSO Link systems promise to transition mission-critical communications from RF systems to TALOC platforms providing the surest, open air secure communications available. The final product will be a Through the Air Link Optical Component (TALOC) that will push the limits on the functionality of airborne and ground-based systems.
Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) Case Management System
In support of DPAA’s mission to recover and identify all unaccounted for US servicemembers from past conflicts, 4S-Silversword provides software development, system architecture, system operations and support, data integration, and cybersecurity services all hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud at Impact Level 4. In support of DPAA’s Case Management System (CMS), 4S-Silversword provided digital media support within the Documentum Enterprise content management system and the STARLIMS Laboratory Informatics System containing authoritative case file and scientific analytical data. The DPAA CMS system contains over 1 million documents including digitized Individual Deceased Personnel Files and Official Military Personnel Files for every deceased service member in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The system includes DoD 5015.2 records management compliance features, as well as workflows to manage tasking and document publishing processes. In addition, our engineering and project management professionals support the ingest of data from legacy data sets, integration of data between Opentext Documentum and applications such as Salesforce and STARLIMS, as well as support for an Odontology comparison application. Our engineering approach uses an AWS GovCloud DevSecOps integrated Agile software development and lifecycle management process.
